Plaid Popover + Sweater

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Something that I very much admire about Southern California is just how laid back everything is – from the lifestyle to the way that everyone dresses and even everyone's outlook on life. My style has definitely evolved since I've first moved here – I've traded my preppy Lacoste polo shirts for more sweaters, plaid shirts (in all sorts of colors) and LOTS an insane amount of denim  – the more distressed the better! Don't get me wrong I'm still into preppy clothes (J.Crew is a full-on addiction), but I don't wear my prepster gear on a daily basis anymore.

Book Chat - #GIRLBOSS

Thursday, January 29, 2015

It's not often that you hear a success story of an eBay store becoming a full-fledged $100 million plus fashion empire with 350 employees. But when you do, you know you have to listen to the powerhouse behind the story. In her first book aptly named, #GIRLBOSS, Sophia Amoruso describes everything from the humbled beginnings of Nasty Gal to the journey that she embarked on to make the brand what it is today.

You'll learn how to bring out your inner #GIRLBOSS ("Life is short. Don't be lazy.") and just become inspired by this unlikely CEO, who stuck to her guns first and foremost. And, had she not, Nasty Gal wouldn't be the influential, cutting edge brand that it is today. Amoruso is a living example of someone who not only kicks butt in the world of fashion, but does so while dressed-to-kill! Seriously read it now - it's such a quick read and when you're done, you'll be ready to take on the world!

Rainy Day

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Rainy days are a rarity in San Diego. Not that I'm complaining about having days perpetually filled with sunshine, but I don't really get an excuse to wear my Hunter rain boots very often. (And, it's quite the shame since I love the pop of color they add to an outfit - especially on a dreary day!)

So needless to say, the first thing I do when it's sprinkling outside (after living in Texas and Massachusetts, the rain out in SoCal is usually nothing in comparison) is pull out my galoshes box and put them on. And voila, I'm ready for the day and perhaps even a little puddle jumping!

Outfit Details: Hunter Rain boots, Old Navy jeans and sweatshirt, Madewell plaid shirt, Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses
